Families In Transition Ministry seeks to make Christ known by engaging children’s hearts and minds in a safe place.
Families in Transition wants to share the love of Christ with children and families.
We offer a Saturday morning program we call “Pancake Breakfast.” This is a time of food (pancakes with endless amounts of syrup and whipped cream), fellowship, and engaging children’s hearts and minds with the teachings of the Bible so they can grown in their relationship with the Lord.
F.I.T. partners with students from Christopher Newport University in Newport News to engage with children attending Carver Elementary. These college students provide weekly help with homework in a safe and loving environment. This time after school enables children to build relationships with mentors who want to encourage them in all aspects of their lives.
F.I.T. also seeks to help and encourage families who have been homeless. We do this by providing furniture and household necessities to families when they secure housing. A team of volunteers delivers the furniture to the family.
